Promissory not for silver.

Promissory note for silver: B owes silver (12 shekels) to A, to be paid in the 2nd month. It is impossible to say whether this is a long or short term loan because the date on which this document was written is broken off. C guarantees for the payment of the silver. The silver’s form and quality are specified in the following terms: non-oxidised (kaspu peṣû,  lit. “white silver”), of  87% fineness ([ša ina 1 šiqil bitqa]), and clipped in pieces (nuḫḫutu). Names of 4 witnesses and the scribe: Bēlšunu/[…].
