A man gives to his wife his slave-woman, who will later become a zakītu-woman.

A voluntarily (ina hūd libbi) gives fB, his slave woman, and her children, to fC, his wife.

fB and her children will serve fC as long as she lives. Once fC dies, fB will become a zakītu-woman of the Lady-of-Uruk and Nanāya and so no governor (šakin māti), overseer (šāpiru), commander-of-ten (rab ešerti) or commander-of-fifty (rab hanšê) shall claim control over her.

May Ištar and Nanāya decree the destruction of whoever alters this agreement.

At the sealing of this document (kunukku)*, sealed in the days of D1, the governor (šākin ṭēmi) of Uruk, and D2, the temple administrator (šatammu) of Eanna (and presumably at in their presence).

Names of 3 witnesses and the scribe.

* This clause usually presents one or two high officials in whose presence the tablet was drafted. It is unclear whether the reference do the “days” of these two officials has a specific meaning, or whether this can be seen as a scribal error.

A= Iqīšāya/Nādin-šumi, husband of fC; fB= fNanāya-silim, slave and a zakītu-woman; fC= fKarantu, wife of A; D1= Erība-Marduk, governor (šākin ṭēmi) of Uruk; D2= Nabû-ahhē-iddin, temple administrator (šatammu) of Eanna
