Content
- Paraphrase
List of livestock allocated to multiple herdsmen, with extractions in wool, goat hair and male animals. Scribal worksheet.
The first lines are too damaged to be read; when the text resumes, one finds that assessmentthe Eanna put under ...’s responsibility (ina pāni) a total of 562+[x] sheep and goats (ṣēnu). These include 40 rams (puḫālu), 382+[x] fertile ewes (laḫru tālittu), 86 female lambs (parratu), 50 male lambs (parru), 0 she-goats (enzu) and 4 more animals (text broken).
The beginning of the reverse lists 3+[x] female lambs (parratu) and 2 he-goats (urīṣu), for a second total amounting to 202 animals (ṣēnu). These were put by the Eanna at Nabû-šumu-ibni’s/Zībā responsibility (ina pāni). The herdsmen in charge will deliver (no verb) 5 UD.DA (uncl., perhaps goat hair) and 3 talents and 30 minas of wool (šipātu) (in return), when the current crop of male and female lambs, less the expected death deductions of 15 sheep (lit. “hides”), would be sheared for the first time (see Kozuh 2014, 46ff.).
LINE.
The Eanna already received (maḫāru Stat.) from Marduk-bēl-ilī 29 sheep for the temple’s offering shepherd (rēˀi ginê) and 1 for its fattening stable (urrû): a total of 30 animals. 80 (animals) still remain debited (rīḫu). A further 29 animals for the offering shepherd and 1 for the fattening stable: a total of 30 animals were received (maḫāru Stat.) from Nāṣiru; 30 (animals) still remain debited (rīḫu).
Rest broken off.
