Paraphrase | A approaches (ana pāni alāku) B, the temple administrator (šatammu) of Eanna, regarding his (= A’s) consecration (gullubu) for the brewers’ prebend (isqu) of the Lady-of-Uruk. In order to evaluate A’s request, B summons two members of A’s clan (the Ekur-zākir family), C1 and C2, and they testify (qabû) in the assembly of the mār banês that A is the (rightful) owner of the prebend (bēl išqi) and that his mother is pure (ellu).* B checks the writing board of the treasury (kizlāqu) of the Lady-of-Uruk and assigns to A the days that used to be assigned to D, the brother of A’s grandfather. Names of 6 witnesses and the scribe. * For the process and terms of this case, and Babylonian priesthood in general, see Waerzeggers, C. and Jursa, M. (2008). On the Initiation of Babylonian Priests.
