Paraphrase | Land sub-lease for arable land belonging to the temple on a fixed-rent basis. Dialogue document. This lease contract is phrased as a dialogue (qabû šemû) between the temple authorities and a herdsman. A asks (qabû) B, the supervisor (bēl piqitti) of Eanna, and the commissioners (bēl piqnēti) to give him (nadānu, wr. bīnamma) parts of (ina) the land (qaqqaru) that the temple had leased (nadānu) to C, namely the gizzētu-land in the area of Nār-Innin and land in the Raqqat-Šamaš district across the river. In return, A will deliver yearly to the Lady-of-Uruk 300 kor of barley and 5 kor of sesame, as part of C’s fixed rent (sūtu), using the measure (mašīhu) of the Lady-of-Uruk. Delivery will take place at (ina muhhi) the big watercourses (mû rabûtu). B, the courtier (rēš šarri), and the commissioners of Eanna agree (šemû, lit. listen). Names of 4 witnesses and the scribe.
