Paraphrase Promissory note for silver. Antichretic pledge of a house.
B owes 1 mina and 20 shekels of silver to A, an alphabet scribe (sepīru) in the crown prince’s service (for whom, see also BM31343 and BM33118). Technically speaking, it is the crown prince's property (makkūru), managed by (ša qātē) A. The debtor’s house located next to D1’s house and D2’s house is pledged to the creditor in lieu of paying interest (antichretic pledge). B will be charged (manû) for whatever work (dullu) that is to be done in the house with bricks (libittu), reeds (qanû) and beams (gušūru). He should also caulk (šanû) the roof and repair the wall foundations (asurrû). E guarantees for the payment of the silver. Silver has been sent (kaspa nadin, lit. “given”) to B by  fF (ina qibi, lit. “by order of ~), a messenger (mârat šipri) of his mother(?) fG. Names of 3 witnesses and the scribe.

A = Gabbi-ilī-šarru-uṣur/Ilteri-hanān, scribe (sepīru) of the C, crown prince; B = Iddin-Nabû/Nabû-ahhē-iddin//Egibi; C = Cambyses, crown prince (mār šarri); D1 = Bēl-iddin/Rēmūt//Dēkû; D2 = Šāpik-zēri/Nergal-ušallim//Sîn-karābī-išme; E = Nergal-ēṭir/Nabû-ahhē-iddin//Egibi; fF = fAna-makanišu, messenger (mârat šipri) of fG; fG = fQudašu (probably B's mother).
