Paraphrase | Apprenticeship contract to teach a slave from the Egibi family the baker's profession. A has voluntarily given his slave C to B, in order to learn the baker's profession (lúMU-ú-tu [mubannûtu]). The contract runs for (at least) three months up to one year (adi ṭuppi u ṭuppi), He shall teach (lamādu D) him all the skills of his baker's profession. If he has taught him, the pupil’s master shall give to the teacher an uzāru-garment; if he has not taught him, the teacher shall give to the pupil’s master three liters (qû) of barley for each day as compensation (mandattu) for the pupil. The parties to the contract have taken one copy of the document each. Names of 3 witnesses and the scribe.
