Paraphrase | Promissory note for silver. Probably related to harbour costs. B, a judge (dayyānu) owes 1/2 mina of silver to A, master of the royal harbour (rab kāri ša šarri), to be paid in Addar (XII). It is what remains to be paid (rīhtu) of the 2 1/2 minas of silver ina hu-sá-e ša šarri (uncl.)(*) Notes: Spar 2000 (CTMA 3), 55 translates "(silver) in scraps, owed to the king", but Van Driel 2002 (Elusive Silver), 277: uncl. A = Nabû-rēmu-šukun/Šūzubu, master of the royal harbour (rab kāri ša šarri); B = Nabû-ahhē-iddin/Šulāya//Egibi, judge (dayyānu) |
