Paraphrase Promissory note to pay a debt of silver and onions to the head of the Egibi family. Repayment of the onions is to be obtained from the debtor’s income from impost on land. Silver had been transferred to the debtor to pay for rikis qabli. Reference to an outstanding debt of dates, barley, onions and silver secured by pledge.
B should pay 1/2 mina of silver and 30 bundles of onions that are due from him to A in Nisan (I) of the 6th year. A will receive full repayment (šalāmu) from his (=the debtor's) income from the šibšu-impost on land (ina šibši eqlišu). In addition (elat), there is a previous debt (u'iltu) of 245.3.0 kor of dates and 8.1.2 kor of barley, as well as a debt (u'iltu) of 50 shekels of silver and 44 bundles of onions, all credit claims (rašûtu) charged against B, for which his orchards (eqlu zaqpu) and grain fields (pî šulpi) have been taken as pledge. The (indebted) silver is that which has been given (nadānu, G Stat.) to B to pay for the rikis qabli (of the men who have) to go to Šeladu in Darius’ 5th year. Names of 4 witnesses and the scribe.
