Paraphrase | Sale of two persons (slaves?) The brothers A1 and A2 sell fC1 and her young (ṣeḫru, wr. ṣa-ah-ru) son C2 (probably slaves, but not explicitly labelled as such) to B for 1 mina and 10 shekels of silver. The sellers guarantee against (suits brought by) a person acting unlawfully (sēhû) or a person claiming (pāqirānu) that the sold slaves are royal slaves (arad šarrūtu) or free person (mār banê). This sale is to be kept apart from the debt (u’iltu) of 2 minas of silver that A1 still owes (to the sellers). Names of 4 witnesses and the scribe: Arad-Marduk/Kittia//Šangû-Ea A1 = Nabû-ēreš/Tabnēa!//Ahu-bāni; A2 = Nabû-šumu-iškun, brother of A1; B = Itti-Marduk-balātu/Nabû-ahhē-iddin//Egibi; fC1 = fBānītu-šulliminni (without affiliation); C2 = Nabû-rēmū’a, son of fC2. |
