Paraphrase | Sale of slaves. The tablet, drafted in Humadēšu and subsequently brought to Babylonia (Stolper 1984, pp. 306f and n. 31) presents several Iranian names and titles, and it is ascribable to the Egibi archive based on the buyer’s name (Zadok 1976, p. 73). A, a magi(?) (wr. ma-gi-ia) (and) merchant (tamkāru), sells 2 slaves (ardu) C1 and C2 for 2 minas 40 shekels of silver to B. The purchase is witnessed by D1, chief merchant (rab tamkāri), D2, overseer of the regular dues (ša muhhi ginê), D3 and D4, city governor(?) (uppadētu) of the country Humadēšu. Note that these persons are not explicitly introduced as "witness". On the edge of the tablet there is a date (month/day/year) which gives no reference to a king. A = Antumma’/Barzu, b/magia tamkāru; B = Bagapāta/Nabû-zēr-iqīša; C1 = Ataršitra’; C2 = Rātakka’/Razamumarga’; D1 = Atrarušu (wr.
