Paraphrase | Dowry gift. Substitute of promised dowry silver by a female slave. A asked B to give his nubile (batultu) daugher fC in marriage (ana aššati nadānu) to his son D, and B accepted. In this document, the two take arrangements with regard to fC’s dowry (nudunnû), that will consist of: 1 mina of silver, 3 female slaves fE1, fE2, fE3 and household goods (udê bīti). However, B has given (nadānu) his female slave (qallatu) fF to A, in lieu of 2/3 of the 1 mina of dowry silver, corresponding to her complete value (ana šīm gamru). Then, B will give to A 1/3 of a mina of silver, the amount still due (babtu) on the one mina of silver, for the dowry to be completely paid (apālu G stat.). The parties to the contract have taken one copy of the document each. Names of 6 witness and the scribe: Nabû-mukīn-apli/Pir’//Uballissu-Gula.
