MMA 86.11.217

Marduk-aplu-uṣur/Ina-tēšî-ēṭir purchases a plot with a date garden and land cultivated for crops (pī šulpi) from Bēlšunu/Nabû-ušallim (B). It (previously) belonged to Šellebu/Šumu-libši.

The plot is located in the province (pīhātu) of Uruk in the quarter (erṣetu) of (tp)Bīt-Zabūnu. It is adjacent to the bank of the (tp)Ditch of six hundred(?) (Ḫarru-ša-nēri(?)) and (the plot) of Ina-tēšî-ēṭir/Rēmūtu, and stretches as far as (the plots) of the neighbors (kî pî itê išaddad). This is the agreed area under sale, irrespective of whether the plot is found to be larger or smaller (mala bašû) (upon measuring).

The lower part of the tablet is broken off.

The document includes the clause concerning fingernail impressions of B, and the tablet is marked with them.

Purchase of a date garden: A purchases from B a planted and cultivated (zaqpu u pî šulpi) date garden (kirî gišimmari) for [x] amounts of silver. The plot of land is located in the area of Bīt-Zabīni in the district (pīhatu) of Uruk. Its upper side (in the east) and its upper front (in the north) border on (the properties of) C, presumably the father of the buyer. Its lower side (in the west) borders on the bank (kišādu) of the Harru-ša-nēri canal. The bordering area of the lower front (in the south) is not specified. No dimensions are given. In connection with the upper side and the lower side it is stated that they have to be measured out (madādu).
