A record of an inner temple discussion regarding a group of temple-serfs (possibly a draft of a guarantee document). No scribe, no date.

The tablet records a discussion held between A1, the temple administrator (šatammu), A2, the courtier and royal supervisor (ša rēš šarri bēl piqitti) of Eanna, and B, a (well known and influential) temple-serf (širku) of Ištar of Uruk.

The heart of the matter is a group of temple-serfs, whom C, the governor (pīhātu) of Babylon and Across-the-river, inspected (amirtu) in 8 Cyr and ordered them to be brought and entrusted to (ina pāni) the temple by B and D, the representative (musahhiru) and supervisor (bēl piqitti) commissioned (ša) by C.

Now, A1 and A2 ask B about C’s instructions (ṭēmu) concerning these serfs, so they could act accordingly. B replies that C did not give him any instructions concerning those temple-serfs, and that until A1 and A2 hear C’s instructions on the matter, they serfs should be put to work in Eanna. B tells A1 and A2 to release the serfs from their fetters, and guarantees (pūtu našû) against their escape, according to what is written in the temple’s ledgers (lēˀu).

The tablet is drafted in the presence (ina ušuzzu) of E1, the supervisor (bēl piqitti) of Eanna, and E2, the one in charge of the royal cashbox (ša muhhi quppi).

No additional witnesses or a scribe are mentioned.
