Paraphrase Promissory note for barley. Pledge of persons.
B owes 44.3.2.0 kor of barley to A, to be delivered without interest (qaqqadu) in Dûzu (IV) at the Arammu-§a-Nabû Canal in Babylon according to the creditor’s measure. The payment is secured by the pledge of the debtor’s cook (C) and [broken off]. No other creditor shall exercise any rights over the pledged cook until A has received the full repayment of his debt.
