Paraphrase | Division of commonly held land between family members. Record of a division of shares (ṭuppi zitti) in land located above and below the New Canal in front of (mihrat) the Enlil Gate in the district (pīḫatu) of Babylon and planted partly with trees (zēru zaqpu) and partly of grain (merēšu). A and B, his paternal uncle, divide it between them (itti ahameš zâzu) – A having included also his brothers' share. For the purpose of describing the two shares in the land, which cover irregular surfaces, they have been divided into smaller portions. The document begins with B’s share. The first measured area (mišihtu) consists of 1;1.5.3.8 kor (18735 m2) of arable land (zēru) including 4 gar (30 m2) of a triangular shaped plot and the land between the fields (adi birat). The upper long side in the West measures 988 1/3 cubits (c. 494,1 m), is adjacent to the 4 gar (30 m2) of triangular shaped land that is an integral part of the measured area (santakki libbi eqli), and borders on (the properties of) C1 and C2; the lower long side in the East is 1006 5/6 cubits (c. 503,4 m) long and borders on the share taken (ṣabātu) by A. The upper front in the North measures 76 1/6 cubits (c. 38,08 m), includes 2 1/2 cubits (1,25 m), the short side of the triangular shaped land (pūt santakki), and is adjacent to the bank (kišādu) of the New Canal; the lower front in the South is adjacent to the next portion of land. The second measured area (mišihtu) consists of 3;3.3.4.7 kor (50302,5 m2) of arable land (zēru), including aškuttu-land. Its upper long side in the West is 2643 cubits (1321,5 m) long and borders on (the property of) D, the oblate (širku) of Marduk, the lower side in the East measures 2646 cubits (1323 m) and borders on (the property of) A. The upper front in the North measures 78 cubits (39 m) and is adjacent to the first area; the lower front in the South measures 86 1/2 cubits (23,25 m) and is adjacent to the aškuttu-land of this field. The third measured area (mišihtu) consists of 1;0.2.4.2 kor (14715 m2) of arable land (zēru), of which 0;1.5.5 kor (5325 m2) is cultivated land (mērešu). Its upper long side in the West is 858 cubits (4279 m) long and borders on (the property of) D, the oblate (širku) of Marduk, the lower side in the East measures 855 cubits (427,5 m) and borders on (the property of) A. The upper front in the North measures 65 cubits (32,5 m) and is adjacent to the dam of the hanšû (makallû ša hanšānē); the lower front in the South measures 75 1/2 cubits (32,75 m) and is adjacent to the bank (kišādu) of the New Canal. The total share taken by B, A’s uncle, consists of 6;1.0.0.7 Kor (83752,5 m2) of land cultivated with trees and grain (zēru zaqpu u mērešu). Then, the text gives details for A’s share. The first measured area (mišihtu) consists of 1;2.1.5.5 Kor (19762,5 m2) of arable land (zēru). Its upper long side in the West measures 1006 5/6 cubits (503,41 m) and borders on the share that B took (ṣabātu); the lower long side in the East is 1025 cubits (512,5 m) long and borders on (the property of fE. The upper front in the North measures 76 1/3 cubits (38,16 m) and is adjacent to the bank (kišādu) of the New Canal; the lower front in the South is 79 1/3 cubits (39,66m) long and is adjacent to the next portion of land. The second measured area (mišihtu) consists of 3;3.3.5.3 kor (50347,5 m2) of arable land (zēru), including aškuttu-land. Its upper long side in the West measures 2646 1/2 cubits (1323,25 m) and borders on B’s share; the lower long side in the South is 2650 (1325 m) long and borders on (the property of) fE. The upper front in the North is 78 cubits (39 m) long and is adjacent to the next portion of land, the lower front in the South measures 85 cubits (42,5 m) and is adjacent to 0;0.2.5.5 Kor (1312,5 m2) of aškuttu-land that is part of this portion. The third measured area (mišihtu) consists of 1;0.2.3.6 kor (14760 m2) of arable land (zēru), of which 0;1.5.5 kor (5325 m2) is cultivated land (mērešu). The upper long side in the West is 855 cubits (427,5 m) long and borders on the land taken by B; the lower long side in the East measures 852 cubits (426 m) and borders on (the property of) fE. The total share taken by A, including his brother’s share, consists of 6.[…] Kor (81000+ m2) of land cultivated with trees and grain (zēru zaqpu u mērešu). A and B take (ṣabātu) each one his share; they promise that they will not withhold (kalû) water nor access to the land (mû u muṣû) to each other. They have taken (leqû) one copy of the document each.
