Paraphrase | Receipt. Fragmentary The first 3 lines of the tablet are very fragmentary. The 1st line mentions a 7 year old black donkey. The 2nd line is broken, but probably continues the donkey's description. The 3rd line contains A’s name. From what is legible it is clear that A sold (ana kaspi nadānu) the donkey to B for the full purchase price (gamru) of 25 shekels of medium quality (nuhhutu) silver of which 1/8 is alloy (bitqu). A receives (mahāru) from B the donkey’s purchase price of 25! shekels of silver. C guarantees (pūtu našû) against a holder of prior claims (uškûtu) to the donkey. Names of 5 witnesses and the scribe: Itti-Nabû-balāṭu/Nabû-šumu-ukīn//man?-a-a A=Sūqāya/Nabû-zēru-ukīn; B=Širku/Iddināya//Egibi; C=Bēl-nādin-.../Iddin-Nabû |
